Slim challenge
This early school exercise pushed the students to consider how a long and narrow space can incorporate dwelling and a job practice without compromising neither.
My submission consisted of shop for a horticulturist and a home for their family, informed by research into vertical farming.
The choice of a longitudinal articulation between spaces grew into a minimal concept expressed by two cross-sections. The onerous width of 4.8 metres was split, one metre for all circulation, meaning stairs and corridors, whilst the remaiding 3.8 metres were left for all the static spaces.
